Lennox Lennox, although not a largely seen character, is quite important in revealing how attitudes toward Macbeth changed throughout the play. His main characteristics are his political enthusiasm and his search for influence. He arrives at the castle on the morning of King Duncan's murder and he also attends the banquet where Macbeth sees Banquo's ghost. He originally is unwaveringly loyal to Macbeth but he slowly loses faith in him and makes a statement acknowledging the need for a different King.
"And that well he might. Advise him to a caution, to hold what distance..." - Lennox speaking of Macbeth and the suspicions against him.
